The really cool thing about waking up to a new day is that it’s like getting a free “do over’. No matter what yesterday was like, today starts off with a clean slate. Why worry about the old news when today’s pages have yet to be written?
The message on my kid’s dry eraser board this morning says, “Today is full of new opportunities and promise“. If I choose to treat each day like the gift that it is, how much better would my week be? Month? Year? Decade? Hey, I get it. Life isn’t always potpourri and roses, but spending half the day worried about yesterday and the other half worried about tomorrow’s problems, can get old pretty fast. There are so many things that I still want to accomplish in my life, and I know it will take a lot more than “I wish” to make them happen.
Beyond hard work, the right attitude and perspective go a long way in helping us to accomplish our goals. When we envision our futures, don’t we want them to be bright and exciting, and fulfilling? Sure we do. Who sits around hoping for the worst?. You don’t, do you? Of course not ( If you do, call me
)
Have you heard the expression, “If you’re gonna dream, dream big?” Well that’s my philosophy. I don’t fool around with the ordinary dreams. Those aren’t challenging. My dreams must include the impossible because one, I know that my faith can get me there. And, two, if I don’t reach up for what’s out of my grasp, then I’ll become satisfied with what’s under my feet.
So go carpe diem. Sieze the day. Live each moment like you’re reaching into a grab bag of goodies. Each second is one that you’ve never seen before and one that you’ll never see again.
There’s absolutely nothing we can do about our past. It’s only the days before us that have yet to see our hand print.
Keep doin’ what you love,
Have an awesome week!
Shannon
