Somewhere in the back of my mind I’ve convinced myself that I can make my kid’s fall wardrobes (and mine) this year. Blame it on pregnancy brain, I don’t know, but I really believe it’s doable, especially if I continue to find patterns like the Liesel Top that I’m sharing with you today.
Last week, I talked a little bit about tweens and how difficult it is to find patterns for them because they “size out” of most of the cute stuff. When I found the Liesel Top by Peek-a-Boo patterns, I happily volunteered to be on their fall blog tour because I knew I wanted to share this pattern with you. It’s SO super simple to make and with the pattern variations (top, dress, short sleeves, long sleeves, shirring, no shirring), you can come up with lots of different looks.
There are so many things that I love about this pattern. There are only 3 pattern pieces. WUH??? Yep, just 3. I kept looking at the pieces thinking, “Did I forget to print something out?” Ha! Ha! But, that’s the genius of the design. The main pieces like the neckline facing, armhole, and neck opening are the only pieces needed. Everything else is basically 4 rectangles that she (Amy, designer) gives you the measurements for. Gotta love that! The pattern also ranges from sizes 6mos. to 12 years which is wonderful.
Regardless of how much I love this pattern though, what really matters is what my “little fashionistas” think. And, from their lips to you:
K: “Mom, I love it! It’s so comfortable.”
N: “I love the sleeves.”
There you have it. My green light to make more!

Oh, and then the boys crashed the photo shoot.
